As a fellow Miata owner (I have a black '97), you know just how much fun that little Roadster can be. With the top down on a beautiful day, driving to the store becomes a joy instead of a chore. And driving for sheer pleasure becomes a part of your life. We have owned four Miatas since 1999 and loved them all.

My wife and I are members of a local Miata club, and though we're too busy to make every event, we really enjoy every trip we take with our club. There's nothing quite like zipping around some nice windy "Miata roads" with a caravan of other Miatas. It's a great opportunity to meet other Miata owners, to socialize, to enjoy the weather, and to drive some beautiful roads.

Being a man of multiple interests, I long wondered how I could express my love for Miatas in my artwork. So it seemed only natural to start painting them. This is a portrait of my 2005 Mazdaspeed Miata, painted in watercolor on paper:

Inspired by the "portraits" I made of my own Miatas, I decided to offer this idea to others. With Miata Portraits, you can now order original paintings of your Miata, painted by me to your specifications. I will paint your car in any media you prefer (watercolor, acrylic, oil, pencil, or pen&ink). I can paint from photos you provide (though they need to be good quality) or we can arrange for me to take photos of your car for you.

I also offer high quality prints from a growing collection of paintings of a variety of "standard" Miatas. Prints cost 25% to 30% of the price of an original painting, so if money is tight, ask me what you would like. There's a good chance that we would have what you're looking for, and if we don't, I would very likely paint something suitable and sell you the first print.

Obviously, the Miata is not the only car that's special enough to paint. If you have a car that you love and want me to paint, let me know, Miata or not!
