Description: Paint like an old master! A course that takes you through the stages of painting oil portraits from life done in the technique used by the masters of the Renaissance. Create works of art using grisaille underpainting, glazing, and scumbling oil on canvas. Prior experience in oils painting is useful but not required.
Materials and supplies: Vine charcoal, 11” x 14” pad of heavy drawing paper, kneaded eraser, 12 inch ruler, paper palette, set of oil paints, paper towels, paint thinner, 16” x 20” canvas.
