Lisa Regopoulos

Lisa Regopoulos is best known for her garden landscapes and floral pastels that have received many awards at local Art Shows throughout the years. Over the past two years, Lisa has become a

plein air enthusiast. Eager to paint more often and to be around other like-minded artists, she formed a plein air group with members of the Leominster Art Association. They get together weekly to paint at different locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. "I have found that painting en plein air so frequently has given my artwork a fresher, more painterly look. Working faster and immersing myself in the mood and atmosphere of the outdoor scene I find inspiring and challenging."

She obtained her art education at the Worcester Art Museum and the Sharon Arts Center, Sharon, NH. She has also attended various intensive pastel workshops with Robert Carsten, PSA. "I am a firm believer that you never stop learning and am constantly reading, trying new ideas, and taking classes to become a better artist."

She is an active member of the Pastel Society of New Hampshire, Sharon Arts Center, Leominster Art Association, and Greater Gardner Art Association. Her most recent pastels have garnered the Pastel Society of America award at the Pastel Society of New Hampshire’s Regional Show and the Terry Ludwig Award at the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod’s National Show. Her artwork is held by private collectors in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

"I am fascinated by the ephemeral quality of light and the atmosphere it creates at different times of the day. I am also drawn towards the dramatic interplay of light against dark, which typically appear in my garden landscape pieces and landscapes."

She is determined to do whatever it takes to paint en plein air through the changing New England seasons, and on sub-zero, windy days. "I will be content to embark on paintings in my warm studio, with the companionship of my collie, Reba, using my many plein air studies as reference."
